| I have a basic problem, Ferret won't start. It ran fine on Wednesday, on thurday it wouldn't start no matter what position the choke was in. I checked the fuel filter, and the carb is getting gas. What's the next step? I hope I don't have to crack the distributor. Also, My 2/3 has a plate on the inside identifying it as a mark 1, and it has fold down seats on the escape hatches. Could it be a modified Mark 1 with the turret added? Dave |

Do you smell gas in the muffler? Did you try and spray some starting fluid in the carb (ether) ? Have someone turn it over and check if you get a spark to one of your spark plugs cable. Opening the distributor is not such a big deal, really. You don't need to open the screws on top, just the three at the bottom. If you never done it, it is a good time to do it so that you could file the points flat. I always use a thin flat file, wrapped with fine emery cloth to do that.
Good luck. _________________ Amnon |

| Thanks, got it started. Carburator was stuck somehow, quick start actually did not work, neither did pouring gas into the carburator with a funnel and hose. I did not remove the top of the carb, some determined tapping seemed to do the trick. We also had a spark problem, the cap and rotor and points were dirty. All have been cleaned up and gapped, now the ferret runs great, at least till the next problem. Dave |
